COFY has been selected by Contra Costa County Juvenile Probation and the Children’s Mental Health to launch a Functional Family Therapy (FFT)Program! Probation is calling this “Transitioning Out to Stay Out.” We will be serving up to 200 families of youth transitioning out of Probation detention programs including  Girls in Motion, the Youthful Offender Treatment Program, and the Orin Allen Youth Rehabilitation Facility.  This will be an opportunity for COFY to empower families to keep youth both out of trouble and in the community.

Over the past eight years we have served over 600 families in our various COFY programs. In the last 23 months Our Multisystemic Therapy Program has served over 200 youth and families who were referred to us through the Probation Department. Our MST clinicians have laid the groundwork and developed the relationships with both Probation Officers and community organizations that will enable both FFT and MST to effectively serve families in the Juvenile Justice System. Through our new FFT program we will be able to have an even greater impact on the communities within Contra Costa County where children and youth are pulled in negative, criminal directions.

COFY started with a core commitment to helping youth and children successfully remain with their families and stay in their own communities.  In this program we will be advancing the vision and mission for which we came into existence!

If you are a clinician who is passionate about helping multi-stressed youth and families turn their lives around, please consider applying for a position in this, or one of our other community-based programs!
